Just graduated Theta Healer reports this experience: 12/27/11

My friend emailed me very upset that her twin sister had been diagnosed with cancer. Even though I was only two days into my first theta healing course I offered to help by sending a healing to her sister. I wondered afterwards if this was ok as I actually didn’t have her sister’s permission. As I was sending healing energy I saw a scene of a walled kitchen garden, with a climbing rose growing up the wall and an old fashioned wooden kitchen chair. Afterwards I asked my friend if this scene meant anything to her and she said it sounded like her sister’s garden. A couple of weeks later I got an excited message from my friend thanking me for the healing and letting me know that when her sister had gone for surgery she was completely cancer free. I don’t know any other details but am left a little bewildered.

Testimonial:

I have had both a strong desire and a strong resistance to taking Manifesting and Abundance for quite some time. Now it is obvious why. In this class, I cleared beliefs around my power and God that have been lifelong blocks affecting every area of my life and well being. Some of which I have been actively working on for years. Lisa was able to hold the space for me to face and clear those programs with ease and in ways I doubted was possible. I highly recommend her and this class if you are ready to move forward in your life.

I expected big things from the trilogy but could not have dreamt of the extent and depth of the work done here. I have released, resolved and manifested more than I thought possible. I have so many more resources and options for my life now then I have 10 days ago. I am in awe at the level of professionalism and love of our trainer. I am leaving feeling confident with my abilities to apply theta in my life and with others. I am excited to continue to learn theta!

Dr. Lisa is quoted in Making Marriage a Success: Pearls of Wisdom from Experts Across the Nation by Jaleh Donaldson

Quote: Pg 173:
“How do you maintain love and connection with your beloved when a
debilitating illness, tragedy, addiction or trauma occurs or is revealed?
Especially, as the person you fell in love with becomes their wound?
The short answer is compassion, love and continual practice in strong
deflective boundaries so you don’t take it personally or at least not so
deep to harm your heart. The longer answer is for you to have a strong
support system, as well for the spouse you may feel you lost to the
issue. For each other, it’s time together, physical contact and
emotional connection that will open the heart and reconnect the soul of
the person you fell in love with back to themselves and to you. When
you remind your beloved of your love and the years of connection and
those timeless personal stories only the two of you know, the neural
pathways and love ‘gene’ will certainly be stimulated, and although
the issue is still there, the connection will remain strongest. Never give
up on a soul that is challenged.”

Eliminating Negative Self Talk with Thetahealing Therapy

An Interview with Therapist Dr. Lisa Cooney, MFT

Negative self-talk can have a powerful and detrimental influence on all aspects of our life. A new form of therapy that has helped many to eliminate their negative self-talk is ThetaHealing. To help understand where negative self-talk stems from and how ThetaHealing therapy can help you eliminate negative self-talk, I have interviewed therapist Dr. Lisa Cooney, MFT.

Interviewer: Tell me a little bit about yourself.

Dr.Lisa: “I am a licensed psychotherapist. I have a Doctor of Psychology with a concentration in Consciousness and Spirituality and Socially Engaged Spirituality. I am an International Facilitator in Israel, and renowned group facilitator in the United States. I am also the CEO of LEI – the Life Empowerment Institute and for over 20 years taught a trans-disciplinary model of healing that Empowers Individuals. I have specialized training in Trans-disciplinary Breath work, Psychodrama, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Dream Work, Shamanism, and a ThetaHealing Master with a Certificate of Science, as well as a Reiki Master. I believe voluntary service or ‘seva’ is an extraordinary way to stay humble, egoless, and in gratitude and service for humanity.”

I: Where does negative self talk stem from?

Dr.Lisa: “Negative self talk comes from various sources and usually imprints a person from early childhood environment and parenting. However, the depth of negative self-talk is really how serious one’s pathology is in this respect. That is taking a history of the situations and experiences one has been involved in could tell a lot about the depth of pathology we would be dealing with. For instance, what type of trauma has been experienced and/or how was the environment one was raised in? Was there violence, drug use, and abuse of any kind? In addition, we would have to ask questions and investigate what the expectations were of a person in the family, i.e., perfectionism, was it an authoritarian household, self critical and condemning or nurturing and compassionate. Was criticism used to motivate one to action or was defeat used to motivate one to act?

An interesting point to note is that one person can live through a series of traumas and be unaffected with little to no negative self talk and someone else can live through the exact same thing and be seriously affected. This begs the question where does this negative self talk come from? Regardless, in my 20 years of practice, negative self talk is alive and debilitating for many and a serious contributor to mental illness.”

I: What type of impact can negative self-talk have on someone’s overall life?

Dr.Lisa: “I have witnessed negative self talk bringing many to the brink of suicide, alcoholism, drug and sex addiction, self defeat/sabotage of all good things, breakups in relationships, loss of job and financial stress. These behaviors created an entrenched pattern of lack of self worth and this can be very addictive and alluring. What I do know about witnessing many clients struggle with their own criticism is that the negativity becomes as alluring or more so then the positivity or the better choice and seemingly many become powerless to its clutches on their ego, behavior and life (at its worst), resulting in self sabotage and destruction usually.”

I: How can someone eliminate negative self-talk?

Dr.Lisa: “The best technique I have come across to eliminate negative self talk is ThetaHealing. ThetaHealing is a gentle and instantaneous technique that can allow you to change deeply held belief systems that have guided your decisions since childhood and that may have been passed down across generations. ThetaHealing quickly reveals these systems, showing the body how to replace limiting beliefs or feelings with positive ones. You find yourself experiencing mental clarity, emotional well being, and with the ability to manifest abundance and prosperity in all areas of your life.

I have studied clinical and advanced clinical hypnotherapy, all levels of Reiki, some trainings in EMDR and TFT, psychodrama, breath work, dream work, studied counseling at the masters level and psychology at the doctoral level, and Thetahealing has been the deepest and most profound healing modality I have witnessed work miracles with and on my clients. I have seen a person suffering decades of trauma and negative self talk cleared and released from the patterning in significantly less literal time than any other modality I have utilized. The best part is that the theta work can be done live, in office/person, or remotely over the phone. I have many clients from different countries that I work with regularly remotely, with the same positive effects as a live session.

Practically, a person must always replace the negative thought with a positive action so a new habit can be created and acted on. The person will need guidance to get the needed clarity about the behavior and patterns triggering the negative self-talk and sabotaging habits. Keeping a record/journal of the triggers is usually helpful and having direct conversation with a therapist or mentor about the triggers gives clarity and power to the person attempting to rid the pattern. I don’t prescribe simply exchanging a negative belief for a positive affirmation. This work needs to be deeper than that for true success. This is why I recommend so highly the Thetahealing. It takes the negative self talk belief and removes it energetically from four levels: the core level (frontal lobe where all childhood beliefs are stored), genetic level (pineal gland where the DNA of our genetics exists and replaces the patterning), the soul level (which is the lessons our soul came into this life to work with and heal) and the history level (which is the collective consciousness and ancestral connection of all beings resolving an issues brought forth in this lifetime to clear). Once the belief is cleared on those four levels, then new teachings are downloaded into the person giving new behaviors, definitions and belief systems to operate from that completely replace the old and destructive ones. It’s like giving someone the blueprint they lost along the way or perhaps never had which then increases self esteem, relationships, general functioning in life and a better overall mood. Comprehensively, Thetahealing is a profound energy healing modality that I have directly free many of their negative self talk.”

I: What type of professional help is available for someone who wants to eliminate negative self talk?

Dr.Lisa: “There is an abundance of professional help available for someone who wants to eliminate negative self talk. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique), TFT (Thought Field Therapy) are well known modalities working well with emotional distress and negative self-talk. I also highly suggest following the work of Esther and Jerry Hicks and the Abraham teachings. However, the technique I most highly recommend is ThetaHealing as it is the one I use daily and through 20 years of being in the field, I have seen this technique heal even the most difficult scenarios, pathologies, diseases and mental disorders. Of course, I also suggest each person find their own inner resonance and use their internal guidance system for participating in the therapy that seems to ‘call’ them in their healing. It is really important to have a great rapport and feel comfortable with the therapist and practitioner of any modality. I always say that we are wounded in relationships and we heal in relationship. The therapeutic relationship can be seen as the grounding for deep healing.”

EMOTIONS: Energy In Motion; The Emotional Journey ‘Through’ Suffering and into Joy.

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

The inspiration for this topic comes in response to the myriad of conversations that I have had with people in my practice. Time and time again I find people asking, “Why am I suffering? Why do I have these painful emotions? How can I get rid of them? Why can’t I just experience peace and joy? ”

When faced with this question, I am reminded of Byron Katie’s statement that “suffering is optional.” Suffering is the by-product of what we think, the judgments we hold about ourselves and others and the negative feelings that arise out of these situations. Often these negative emotions translate into dis-ease in the physical body as well as a chronic separation from our intrinsic sense of well being, aliveness and connection. People attribute their suffering to the “bad feelings” and often do personal work because their emotions and their physical bodies are letting them know that they are not feeling well. People commonly battle with emotions such as sadness, grief, anger, fear, anxiety, rage, guilt and shame. Once they are in the workshop or consultation session, they hope that the emotions will leave, get better or end and then their suffering would automatically end as well.

Empowered Relationships – From Victim to Victory

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Could your relationships really use a tune up? Is what you’re doing and how you’re doing it, at odds with the universe and all the people in your universe? Are you ready to blow, need a change or feeling extra resentful lately? If so, you may need to infuse yourself and your relationships with a healthy dose of empowerment. Let’s all step out of Victimhood and into Victory.

Our global climate has been looking bleak and somewhat dreary, and it is easy to have all the gloom and doom energy bleed over from the professional world and infiltrate our personal lives. This moment of crisis can also be seen as a potential opportunity; it is the breaking point where it becomes too painful to continue rigid behavior patterns that aren’t working and we become willing to move through the illusion we have been living and leap into a sustainable and satisfying victory in all our relationships. Change begins with you and ends with you, so know have control of every relationship dynamic in your life-even the one in which you feel most “out of control.” The control you have is your behavior and what you do with it. It’s time to get really honest with yourself and look straight in that mirror in order for your relationships to move from conflict to triumph.
